In previous publications we talk about strain, stretch and muscle contraction, in order to highlight the causes and symptoms of each muscle injury. In today’s post we will deal on muscle contusion, closing our cycle of muscle breakdown concepts. I hope that matters can assist in identifying the injuries.Muscle injury is a common injury in sports, especially contact sports because, unlike stretches, contractures and strains are injuries that occur due to friction between direct practitioners. Such injuries may be classified as mild, moderate, or severe according to the grade and recovery time (pine, 2015). The Editorial of Bibliomed (2008) points out that 60-70% of muscle injuries related to sports are muscle injuries. The sites affected by muscular injury can be varied, but typically occur in the lower limbs (PINHEIRO, 2015), very exposed in contact sport. Symptoms A muscle injury has symptoms like pain and difficulty moving the affected region after trauma (blows, falling, etc.). In most cases there is no great difficulty in diagnosing muscle injury, but requires careful not to be confused with a muscle breakdown, which has a higher gravity and the like symptoms (Editorial Bibliomed, 2008). Treatment

Usually the injury is a benign lesion that has its spontaneous recovery, however, depending on the intensity of the shock can become something serious and even lead to fractures. It is traditional we see the occurrence of injuries and the treatment is homemade by anti-inflammatory ointments, but persisting symptoms should seek medical advice for further information and an accurate diagnosis. Treatment for muscle injury normally use ice in place, anti-inflammatory ointments, stretching, rest, and gradually resume physical activity. In some cases physical therapy is indicated to accelerate the recovery, through their own equipment (PINHEIRO, 2015). Muscle injuries are preventable, but in the event, we hope that the information we share in Training Science can collaborate.
